Health and nutrition programs in Asia and the Pacific, hit by the recent global economic crisis, have undergone major restructuring that has led to a reduction in full time staff involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring of health and nutrition programs. Many organizations now out-source their needs in order to respond to the demands of country program managers without adding to their already expansive administrative budgets. But capable part-time technical support is often hard to find, as most public health professionals are engaged in global organizations with commitments outside of Asia. PHS is well positioned to fill this gap: to provide flexible high quality technical support to country programs in Asia and the Pacific, when and where it is needed.
